Curiosity at work! This photo, taken on Jan. 13, 2015, shows the crystal-rich 'Mojave' rock on planet Mars. 
Captured by the Mars Hand Lens Imager on NASA's Curiosity Mars Rover, it shows outcomes of a mini-drill test to assess whether the rock is appropriate for full-depth drilling to collect a sample. Cracking of the rock has made freshly exposed surfaces available for inspection. Another awesome step along NASA's journey to Mars.
