Had a great talk with jimharshawjr on his #successthroughfailure podcast.

I know a thing or two about failing...and I’m not afraid to claim that. I’m self-aware enough to not only fail in front of you, but then proceed to remind you of it. This is where the growth happens.

Changing your mindset on what it means to fail and what the implications are of a setback has been so important for me as I have grown. Realizing that everyone before me has failed, everyone after me will fail and every single soul that dares to be great will suffer losses.

Losses and setbacks are inevitable, but it’s the mindset toward said setbacks that will be the separator. A life worth living resides in the realm of risky.

True freedom lies with those that can move forward from setback to setback without losing focus on the goal. Not be deterred by a detour. Not be discouraged or downtrodden by the “L” that they took.

Looking at each failure not as a final destination, but just a fork in the road. A new path to go, grow and be galvanized by the trials that are ahead.

Take your focus less off the destination and more on the day to day, the minute, the small details that will compound as you build this journey brick by boring brick. Also, simultaneously give thanks for that which you do have. And that which you are blessed by on the journey that you are pursuing instead of being dissatisfied that you haven’t reached the destination yet.

Keep grinding. Keep plodding. Keep pursuing.
