How it’s going.

In 2016, Athletic Lab sent Ruby Jackson to work with a youth Track and Field academy in Salem, India. Ruby was an Athletic Lab athlete and coach (2009-2017) and remains involved with the community to this day. Ruby spent 1 month educating, assessing and coaching both the athletes and coaches in Salem in late 2016. 

Flash forward about 5 years and one of the athletes from that academy has made the 2021 Indian Olympic team. Revathi Veermani will represent India in the mixed 4x400m relay in Tokyo. Congratulations to both Ruby and Revathi. Revathi has a tremendous life story. She was orphaned at just 7 years old and raised by her grandmother who worked as a daily wager. She began running barefooted and was discovered at a local meet in 2015 which eventually brought her to the academy.
