2 days ago the NCAA cancelled all NCAA championships and the entire spring sport seasons for all sports. When the announcement came, hundreds of track & field athletes around the country were hours away from competing at the indoor national championships. For many this event was the culmination of years of training. ⠀

One of the athletes affected was dctrains10. He is the top D3 heptathlete of all time (5,441 points) and a member of the #1 ranked D3 track & field team in the country. He was hoping to finish the weekend with both individual and team national championships. ⠀

On Friday, just hours after hearing about the cancellation of the national championship, Dylan stopped in at Athletic Lab for a training session with the Athletic Lab Track & Field Club. Head held high and not a hint of feeling sorry for himself, Dylan lined up against solo_simmons (#1 US decathlete in 2019). As you can see, he showed what might have been possible had the championships taken place. ⠀

We’re all affected and we all have to make sacrifices big and small during this time. This is a reminder to control what you can control and not focus on the things that you can’t.
