## Caption

The #athleticlab coaches mentorship program is designed to develop future leaders in sports science, fitness and high performance training. Accepted applicants gain 400+ hours of experience learning in a fast paced high performance training center. One of the highlights of the program are the weekly lectures by mikeyoungphd where he discusses advanced sports science and training theory. Those in the program shadow training sessions, learn "the Athletic Lab way", eventually coach sessions and gain exposure to the methods, monitoring and technology that are typically reserved for the most well funded professional sports teams in the world like polarusa team systems, go_exxentric and trainwithpush. At the conclusion of each mentorship period each apprentice coach is given a hypothetical training scenario and must design and defend their program to Dr. Young and other Athletic Lab coaches. Recent graduates of our program have found placements in graduate degree programs, professional and collegiate sports teams and with sports technology and apparel companies.
