To continue highlighting our Cause of the Month, here's a closer look at POTS. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔹It affects between 1–3 million people in the US and millions around the world. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔹More than 90% of patients are female between the ages of 12-50 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔹Symptoms include fast heart rate, fainting, fatigue, shortness of breath, nausea, migraines and more ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔹Most symptoms are caused by blood pooling in the lower limbs when patients stand, which doesn’t leave enough blood flowing to the heart, lungs and brain ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔹There's no cure (yet!), but there are treatments that may help manage symptoms
