Over on the site, we’re spotlighting some Black-owned brands in the golf business that are doing the real work of growing the game. While golf may not yet be as diverse as it should be, its Black leaders are more diverse and impactful than you may realize in paving the way for future generations. Check out the stories of these founders at the link in our bio.

Jordan Griffin & Matt Daniels — blackballedgolf
• Blackballed Golf is a brand that honors the legacy of unsung Black golfers and the ways in which they were blackballed from the game. Jordan and Matt are using that golf dream deferred to give power to the next generation and show diverse youth that they can find a home in golf.

Wayne Birch — trapgolfofficial
• Trap Golf is an upstart brand founded by Atlanta native and pgatour caddy wayne_o_draino. You may have seen their art from aaronmunn or some videos from roger_steele that prove Trap Golf is in the building for good, and here to #MakeGolfCool for the kids.

Jonathan Reed — golferbro_apparel
• Serial entrepreneur Jonathan Reed is a creative mind with knack for creating brands beloved by his community. When he put the simple image of a Black golfer on apparel — something you don’t often see represented in golf clothing — Golfer Bro was born.

DeBrandon Jews — yootopeagolf
• Yooto’pea Golf comes from the phonetic spelling of ‘utopia’, and that word reflects the timeless vision DeBrandon Jews and his creative partner Michael Floyd have for their brand. From classic golf gear to handcrafted leather goods, Yooto’pea is bringing attention to detail back to the forefront.

Olajuwon Anajaku & Earl Cooper — eastsidegolf
• You may have seen cp3 rocking Eastside Golf before an NBA game last season. And if you didn’t, pretty soon you’ll start seeing this iconic logo on courses near you, rocked by anyone and everyone.
