When Ro first immigrated to America from Myanmar, he felt isolated. “When I came here, everything felt so different,” Ro said. “Different culture, different colors, different language. I was alone.” Ro started taking evening English classes at Emily Griffith so he could better understand people he interacted with at work. He then enrolled in our Automotive Service program. After he graduated, he worked with the CAREERS program to update his resume and apply to jobs. Ro is now a technician at a dealership. “I love working in the automotive career field; it’s like a family,” Ro said. Our CAREERS program is free and provides tuition assistance for immigrants and refugees. Learn more, link in bio.
