Last week we covered the australiacup fixture between apialeichhardtfc VS Hazelbrook Hawks. 🦅

With 20/25 minutes left - Hazo chucked on substitute goal keeper Micky. Micky, aged 47 was thrown into the mix against an NPL1 Side. A good one at that. 

On the night, it had us all wondering - was this the oldest australiacup appearance ever? 

Wikipedia has Daniel McBreen at aged 42 with the record. A remarkable 5 years short of Micky aged 47. 

We are well aware that there may be older players out there who haven’t been listed in the record so consider this a call out to the Australia Cup. If you don’t respond with evidence of older players the streets will be crowning Micky as the oldest don the Aus Cup has seen.

Leichardt Oval won’t forget being host to such a record.
