On June 16th, 2014, our lives changed. On the other end of the telephone line, I heard the words:  SURVIVE….CHEMOTHERAPY….MASTECTOMY…Terrifying. 
The doctor was speaking of our 25-year-old daughter, Emily, who was diagnosed with Stage Two Breast Cancer.  We are thrilled to say that she has WON the battle and her prognosis is excellent.  We are so grateful to her amazing caregivers and the countless individuals who have contributed to the research that led to Emily’s complete recovery.  We believe it is our responsibility to “Give Back” and therefore we are presenting our new award.….our “Dance To Inspire Award!” This Award will be given at each competition to a 12 & Under routine and a 13 & Over routine that inspires our judges.  These routines will instill feelings of hope, happiness, success, accomplishment.  The registration fees paid for these two routines will be matched by Ticket To Broadway and after our Nationals competition will be donated to the Young Survival  Coalition.  This non-profit organization focuses on young women age 40 and under in an effort to bring awareness of the disease and that early detection is the key.  Life is very precious and we hope that by bringing our story to the TTB Family of Dancers that more young women will be aware that breast cancer can happen to any one at any time.
