We’re reviewing the Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw and want your feedback on what is and isn’t working, whether you own a pet or not. In our bylaw update, we want to recognize new trends that will impact Calgarians and businesses. We’re looking at:⁣
⁣
✔ Licensing, including potential regulations around dog walkers, retail sale of animals and the importing of animals.⁣
🐺 Improving our ability to coexist with wildlife, such as coyotes and bobcats.⁣
🐶 Dog behavior in off-leash parks and public spaces.⁣
🙀 Reasonable number of pets in a household.⁣
🐝 Urban agriculture, including livestock, beekeeping and the keeping of pigeons in an urban setting.⁣
🐈 Regulations around vicious dogs and feral, stray and roaming cats.⁣
⁣
