I pray that this message finds you and yours doing well! 

I wanted to take the time to say Thanks for you and your sons efforts with the Moral Code Shoes initiative.

As a young man, my Dad always instilled the values of my appearance. He said it’s one of the few ways of communicating without saying a word. 

He worked in a factory setting and each day before leaving for work, he would dress up and have a briefcase with him. However at night when he returned home, he smelled like oil, and cleaning supplies.

I later found out that my Dad was a janitor at this plant. I, by no means was embarrassed by this but rather intrigued. I asked as a young kid; “Dad why do you go to work dressed up and return oily and smelly” He laughed and said; “Son your appearance is one of the few ways of communicating without saying a word.” He went on to say it (your appearance) will set the stage and tone of how others look at and perceive you. 

He told me don’t care about people’s perception, but eliminate a reason for them to perceive. Since then, at the age of (16) and now (51), I dress in a way to communicate without saying a word and walk strongly, and boldly knowing I belong.

This mentality and standards he set in me, I now give back and “Pay It Forward” to the youth in my community involvement.

I was a Director of Supply Chain at Goodwill Industries where you and I first met, and now the Director of Operations at Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin! Yes I dress up daily! 😊

God Bless You for the morals and values you are instilling in your son, as my dad did for me! He will be better because of it! 🙏🏾
