I struggled so hard trying to write something about finding and connecting with like-minded people because it means a lot to me and also, it really isn’t that simple. And I’m not going to write an essay because no one wants to read that :< -
But truthfully every great step in my journey in music (and everything that comes with it) comes from moments of pure connection and validation from people who see the same big picture and fight the same fight. When you meet someone who is like-minded its like finding a comrade in battle. those people gave me the courage to take every step because if it is all for myself then it is for nothing - Mentors who saw a part of themselves, mates with the same thing to prove, my crew/team with the same dream and fans who understood what I was trying to say without me having to explicitly say it. 
They haven’t aided my journey, they are my journey, and likewise I find great satisfaction being a part of creating their world and while I’m suppose to write something about “giving back”, it doesn’t feel like that, it feels more like moving forward together. Which to me means doing for others what meant the most to me - pushing them forward and not slapping them in the face with what you think is right but being exactly what they need. 
I’m so fortunate to work intimately with my best friends, they are my world and they are perfect to me because I know I fought for them and them for me. And with this year’s message of like-mindedness and collaboration I think its also important to remember that some dreams don’t align and some hearts live in different places and that’s okay because it just makes finding the right pieces of the puzzle way more satisfying. 
We are not perfect but we do what we can to the best that we can, fighting fearlessly and loving freely.

I hope I see many of you like-minded creatures at Shine Fest happening at the Singapore Sports Hub from 4-5th Aug!
