With the 22nd overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, the Washington Capitals have selected Hendrix Lapierre.

Scouting Report:
When he is healthy — he was at last summer’s Hlinka Gretzky tournament — Lapierre can absolutely dominate a game. His vision is elite, as is his ability to run a powerplay and find passing lanes. The centreman is super patient with the puck and is always aware of his options. He’s got great puck protection and stick-handling. His hands are elite as well, and he’s got a quick wrister. Lapierre is not an elite skater, but he still drives play effectively, and is always hustling making plays without the puck. His instincts in his own zone are very good.
Should he fully recover from his injuries, Lapierre is going to become a star.
