Scouting Report:
Noel Gunler is one of the biggest wild-cards in this draft. Not only did play in a very sheltered role in the SHL, but he also wasn’t invited to any International Events with Sweden’s National Team for unknown reasons. That made evaluating Gunler’s improvements nearly impossible. In 2018-19, Gunler exploded for 27 goals in 31 SuperElit games, putting him well ahead of Alexander Holtz, and other star Swedish prospects from years past in terms of goals-per-game. There is no question Gunler can score goals, and that he is a tantalizing offensive force when dangling and moving the puck. Gunler’s skating is not great, and he often seems disengaged, especially in his own end. The high-end tools are there though.
