Scouting Report: 
Barron was once touted as a potential top-five prospect in this draft. An injury-riddled draft season, and lack of offensive-pop have kept him off many peoples first-round board. I still feel like Barron has a very good chance of becoming a top-four defenseman. Defensively, the Moosehead plays man-to-man very well. He has a strong defensive stick, holds the line very well, and can throw his body around when necessary.
He has tremendous wheels that help him with zone exits. He makes clean, crisp passes, and is always calm with the puck. Although Barron doesn’t wow you with the puck, you can always know he is going to make a safe play.
A safe player who defends well and skates well is something any NHL team could use, and Barron has all those tools.
