Hirvonen is another undersized forward who does everything you want him to do. He attacks defenders at full-speed, and can make some sweet dangles and side-steps. He’s an excellent transitional player, and is like a waterbug with how he handles through traffic. He’ll drive to the net hard, or find nifty seam passes around traffic. Hirvonen also knows his responsibilities. He blocks shots, can pick plays off, back-checks hard, and overall makes a significant defensive impact. Exactly where he fits in as an NHL player is still To Be Determined, but his floor is a useful third-line centre.
