Dr. David Guidi, Upper School Assistant Dean of Students and Fine Arts Chair, was recently nominated and elected to serve as the Texas Private School Music Educators Association (TPSMEA) Jazz Band Division Vice President. In their 30th year as an organization, TPSMEA serves to "...provide a statewide organization specifically focused on the needs of private school music educators and students. The activities and organizations of TPSMEA are designed to enhance and promote the teaching of music by providing appropriate opportunities for enrichment and achievement." 

St. Andrew's has been well-represented in recent years at TPSMEA events with students selected to region and all-state choirs, concert bands, jazz bands, and orchestras. Dr. Guidi will be working in earnest to promote and support the involvement of Texas private school music students in the programmatic jazz offerings that TPSMEA provides.
