This fall, Fine Arts Department Chair Dr. Dave Guidi was commissioned to write an original composition by the University of North Florida's Jazz Ensemble. The UNF Jazz Ensemble 1 is considered to be one of the finest collegiate jazz ensembles worldwide, and it was even more of an honor for Dr. Guidi since he himself was a member of the ensemble when he was a UNF student. Dr. Guidi's composition is entitled "The Midnight Zone" and will be premiering at UNF's virtual concert tonight at 6:30 pm as part of their Great American Jazz Series (their 33rd year running).
