In the upcoming episode of #AFootballLife, NFL Films explores #DexterManley, a legendary defensive end for the Washington Redskins whose promising career was haunted by his constant battle with drug addiction. Winning two #SuperBowls during the '80s, he dominated opponents on the field while endearing himself to fans everywhere.  This success, however, was a distraction from the struggles that plagued him before, during, and after football.

He had many obstacles to overcome, from a rough childhood to dealing with illiteracy and drug addiction into adulthood.  His charm and energy hid building chaos in his life outside of football,  which led to a ban from the #NFL in 1991.  His post-football life was a difficult time for him as well, as he struggled to cope with the loss of his passion.
