I am honoured to announce my appointment as Director of Olympic Talent Development in China with an immediate mandate to accelerate the development of 140 national ice hockey players in China’s system.⁠
With the prestigious importance of hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics, historical success in speed skating and figure skating, hockey being the feature sport of the Winter Games, and a goal to inspire millions of children and their parents to enter the sport to help achieve fitness, health and happiness, showcasing excellence in hockey at the top level has the government’s highest focus.⁠

I believe in the power of sport for life. I love the game of hockey. I am passionate about advantaging people for success. I enjoy assembling teams and value positive enthusiastic growth minded collaboration. I value international friendship and goodwill. Sport has been a key influence to my entire life, academics, career, business, friendships, active family, outdoor lifestyle, current health success, physical ability, mindset, resiliency, goal oriented lifestyle and interest to mentor others to achieve theirs. What a great opportunity to stimulate wider hockey participation and share the many many benefits of sport, inspiring a nation to hockey from watching their men and women rise up the world rankings.⁠

I’m going to summarize this as a very cool undertaking. It’s timing seems “in sync” given players from many countries - Sweden, Finland, USA, Russia, Czech Republic, Belarus, Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Denmark, are converging inside 8 TWIST High Performance Hockey Centers in Ontario, Vancouver and Japan, for Olympic-caliber coaching, strength & conditioning and sports medicine to advantage them for success in September training camps.
