Since we are between #BTCamp and the Bowerman 5K, there’s no better time to take a moment and appreciate these BTC titans. If you’ve noticed the expansion of BTC events, products, and community impact the past few years, it’s likely that Elliott, Emily, or Julian had something to do with it. So many people contribute to the success of our club, but these three have been the backbone that help support everyone else on a day to day basis. Let’s let them know we appreciate all their efforts!

⠀
Elliott was an NCAA Champion at Stanford and joined the BTC Pro team when he graduated in 2012. After winning a team Silver medal with the US team at the 2013 World XC Championships, Elliott struggled with a series of difficult and unusual injuries that ultimately derailed his career. Throughout years of setbacks, he never lost his love for the sport and found new ways to contribute the club, first as Youth coach, then as Elite coach, and now as Club Director. He has spearheaded many of the club’s expansions while working as a Product Line Manager at Nike. If you want to know what he’s all about: his first extended vacation in a year was to work camp.
⠀
An Ohio native, Emily attended North Carolina State where she was a cross country All-American and represented the US at the World Junior Cross Country Championships in 2009. She has been an integral part of the Women’s Elite team since moving to Portland in 2015 and in 2017 she again represented the US at the World Cross Country Championships. Never one to back away from hard work, she has taken on more and more responsibilities in the club as she sees things that need doing. Among her many jobs are COO, head Youth Coach, and Bowerman 5K director.
⠀
Julian is a Portland native and Dartmouth graduate. The self titled “Chief Hype Innovator”, Julian is in charge of all digital design and photoshopping, gonzo or otherwise. He was most truly in his element at camp as the official games master and maestro of Tug-Of-War. As a member of the Elite team, Julian has had some impressive half marathon performances, but his main pursuit is certain unfinished business at 5,000m.
