Great action at the Azusa Sunset Meet on Tuesday Night! Headlining was the Women’s 5K which was a wonderful demonstration of the power of a team. Courtney and Shelby doubled back from their races to pace the race all the way up to three laps to go. From there Karissa took over and lead the trio of her, Marielle, and Vanessa to a 1-2-3 finish and three new personal bests!

In the Men’s 5K, some confusion in the pacing duties prevented a World Championship Standard time from developing, but the BTC boys competed extremely well. Lopez won the race convincingly over the final 400 meters in 13:25. Woody kicked like a demon to nip Grant at the line and take third.

Kate and Shelby looked great in the Women’s 800, with Kate taking the win and Shelby coming second with her first sub-2 clocking! No one can tell her to change her IG handle now. Both of them are looking sharp and fit ahead of USAs.

But it goes on! Courtney won her heat of the 1500m in a three second personal best of 4:11. Colleen was second in her’s in 4:07. Elise ran 4:08. Josh ran a really solid 3:38 and Centro ran 1:46, his fastest 800 in four years!

The crew is looking fit and ready for USAs in two weeks. That’s very exciting, but we were even more excited to see there reaction of our #BTCamp kids to watching the races on the big projector screen. The strength of the sport is in its communities and its fans and we love to see new ones blossom among #TheYouth.
