As we count down to our 1st full alumnae game (10.26.19), we will be checking in with a different 🐏 alum! in honor of being 2️⃣ days away, we are highlighting the original number 2....Ria Peralta!⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
After graduation, Ria took a trip to the Philippines with her family, and repped VCU gear the entire time! Between catching fish with her hands, riding Caribou, and climbing coconut trees, she was so happy to visit her family's home country again! A few days after landing back in the US, she played with other VCU alumni and lax friends at Lake Placid. Ria is currently taking a gap year to apply to medical school. In the meantime, she is a full-time medical assistant at Anne Arundel Dermatology, one of the premier dermatology companies in the Mid-Atlantic. Away from medicine, she is the field hockey goalie coach for reigning WCAC champions, Good Counsel High School. Ria joined the coaching staff of her lacrosse club team, as well, and is the head coach for the 2023 team and assistant coach for the 2024 A and B teams. When she has free time, she enjoys going on hikes with her dog, Kosi, watching her sisters' high school games, and randomly running into VCU fam around the 301!⁣⁣⁣

Ria was a member of the inaugural vculacrosse #yearone team. She graduated from VCU in May 2019 with Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Psychology and a minor in chemistry.⁣⁣⁣
