AMAZN HQ is the HOME of Asian American sports  FULL HIGHLIGHTS IN BIO 
Japanese American Ashley Hiraki is a senior for hoops powerhouse Archbishop Mitty. As the captain and star point guard of the team, she has made a name for herself as one of the top players in California. In the West Coast Jamboree’s Platinum Division, which featured several of the nation’s best teams and players, Hiraki and Mitty held their own. Playing against now #1 ranked Mater Dei in the semifinals, Hiraki hit four first-half threes to catapult her squad to a commanding 30-17 halftime lead. Mater Dei clawed back in the second half and snuck away with the stunning victory. Mitty breezed by Saint Joseph’s Notre Dame in the third-place game to end the tournament on a positive note. From the two games that I filmed, it was clear that Hiraki was not afraid to be a ball-dominant scorer and passer when need be but also has an automatic catch-and-shoot three-point jumper. On the defensive end, she was by far the best across every team present in the tournament and has a knack for drawing charges time and time again. Currently sitting at 9-3, Hiraki and Mitty have already faced the best of the best in the country both through this tournament and the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona. She is leading the Monarchs in scoring and steals per game (3.3) and is second in assists. Expect big things from Ashley for the rest of the season!
