Yesterday's bowl date announcement means my #Illini football season is over (I'm on vacation during the bowl game). Here are a bunch of favorite shots from the year, and I'll likely be posting more during the off-season. Per my own little tradition, here are my thoughts on an amazing football season (get a coffee before you dive in): ----- Just like my baseball season, this wasn't supposed to be a thing. Last year, I had started to shoot in a more "full time" capacity for @thechampaignroom during basketball, but never considered dipping into football.

Enter @tkissack20 about a week before the season started, asking me if I wanted to jump on the football coverage for the season. Thanks to his invitation and a full season credential, I was on board. ----- I'm an alum of the University of Illinois and played in the Marching Illini during my time on campus. As a kid, my Dad would tell me stories about the team, the university, the band, and just how much that place left an impact on his life. Getting to experience that in the late 2000's/early 2010's was a dream come true, and I thought my time was over the minute I entered the "real world". Thankfully, I was wrong. ----- I have so much to be thankful for. Thankful for people that appreciate my work and corny sense of humor. Thankful for players, coaches, alumni, faculty and staff of the University that share and support my work. Thankful for the people that were on the sidelines with me for 8 games across 4 different stadiums. Thankful for family, friends and colleagues both near and far that helped and supported me as well. This season was one for the ages, and I can't wait to return to Memorial Stadium to do it all again in 2020 🔶️🔷️🔶️🔷️ I-L-L!!! #illini #illinifootball #uofillinois
