## Caption

It's the 90th day of the semester! Let's start today with a photo submitted by alumnus johnoakdalton. John is currently the Director of Communications and Marketing at iueast, but from 1998 - 2005 he managed Ball State's Video Information System, a campus-wide fiber-optic video and audio network.⠀
⠀
Pictured here is the VIS production staff in 1993. This photo was taken on a Video Floppy camera by John for Video Toaster User Magazine when John was a producer/director for VIS. VIS drew the attention of the publication because the crew produced close to 1,000 production requests a year (on video floppy, SVHS, VHS, and laser disk) on four smokin' hot Video Toasters. John was interviewed for the publication, but it folded before the crew could become Toaster famous.⠀
⠀
Pictured are (back row LtR): Bart Amburn, Dan Hunt, John Dalton, and Antwan Myers. Cindy Cook Hershman is in the center. Front row LtR is Kitchi Trinoskey Goodwin and Paul Pleva. Bart, Dan, Antwan, Cindy, John, and Kitchi are all TCOM grads. John also earned an MS from bsucics.⠀
⠀
Fun fact: John is a popular B-movie screenwriter. From his IMDB bio: "In 1987, he was the first scriptwriter to win a David Letterman Telecommunications Scholarship from BallState. In 1999, Dalton sold his first screenplay to the direct-to-DVD market and sold more than 40 screenplays over the next 20 years, with more than a dozen becoming films on television, at film festivals, on streaming, or on video store shelves. In 2018 Dalton moved to writer/director with The Girl in the Crawlspace while continuing to write screenplays for other genre directors." See his full IMDb at our link in bio⠀
