[On-view through Sept 15] “Open Sessions 2018-20: What's Love Got to Do with It?" is the full-museum exhibition of the third cycle of The Drawing Center’s Open Sessions program -  a two-year artists’ residency with thirty one participants from around the world. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Kunlin He’s drawings address the impact of photographic techniques on traditional ink painting juxtaposed with more contemporary global issues, such as the threats presented by the Anthropocene. “2092: Tale of Moon Trip” is a drawing based on science fiction and Chinese diaspora studies. The drawing predicts various moral and ethical crises that people who emigrate to the moon will encounter. It proposes a perspective on the current immigration and geopolitical crisis from the vantage of a society in the future. His drawing depicts a 360-degree panorama of immigration to the moon as it would be seen through the spherical imaging lens of a virtual reality camera. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
