“My work is interdisciplinary using lens (photo/film), performance, drawing, writing, objects and sound to negotiate the material and the conceptual. My practice as an artist is considered “visual” but I strive for synesthetic engagements. I emphasize this. My project, lately, is to decentralizing the ableist assumption imbedded in the “visual” and consider other forms of engagement and other bodies engaging.”- LaMont Hamilton
LaMont Hamilton lives and works in New York. His work has been shown at MoMA, The Kitchen, and the Studio Museum in New York.

Open Sessions is a two-year program which provides opportunities for selected artists to contextualize work and ideas through exhibitions, public programs, and critical dialogue, organized by Rosario Güiraldes and Lisa Sigal, Open Sessions Curators.
