“Alternative Histories From Then To Now" is on view in our Lab Gallery and Corridor. Wed-Sun 12pm-6pm | Thurs 12pm-8pm. The exhibition includes works in multiple mediums that offer examples of how we might reimagine historical narratives in order to contend with the traumas of contemporary life.

Winner of the Hugo Award for Best Amateur Magazine in 1963, “Xero” was edited and published by Patricia and Richard Lupoff in New York and ran for 10 issues from 1960 to 1962.“Xero’s creators wanted to develop a fanzine that balanced the fantastical material dominating fanzines at the time with insightful reflections on science fiction and popular culture. A teenage Roger Ebert, who grew up to become the noted American film critic, was among the contributors to the publication. “Xero” is particularly notable for its critical coverage of comics, which included alternative takes on popular superhero stories. It also published poetry, reflections on television and film, and political commentary.
