“The editor at the newspaper where I had been working as a photographer for 6 years kept commenting that my photographs said more about me than the subject. It was obvious that I was trying to use my job as an artistic outlet. I decided to pursue an MFA to explore personal ways of making photographs.” - Rachel Granofsky

Rachel Granofsky lives and works in New York. She was awarded artist residencies at Ox-Bow (2017); Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2015); and Greatmore Studios, South Africa (2011).

Open Sessions is a two-year program which provides opportunities for selected artists to contextualize work and ideas through exhibitions, public programs, and critical dialogue, organized by Rosario Güiraldes and Lisa Sigal, Open Sessions Curators.
