Open Sessions Artist 2018-20: Ludovica Carbottawhen did you decide to become an artist, and why?
.
“I walked downstairs and here the light was not as strong as before, at the end of the room I could see what seemed to be a mirror. It was the size of a mirror but yet the surface was not completely reflective, maybe it was just a drawing of a mirror. In that mirror, even if it was probably just a drawing, there I was, a different me though. I also made me wonder if a drawing of a mirror could be able to give one a fresh eye.” - Ludovica Carbotta
.
Ludovica Carbotta lives and works in New York. Her work has been shown at La Casa Encedida, Madrid; Kunstlerhaus Museum, Graz; MAXXI Museum, Rome.
.
Open Sessions is a two year artist program of interdisciplinary events and exhibitions focused on drawing, organized by Rosario Güiraldes and Lisa Sigal.
