AK: “I am fascinated with the indexicality of drawing. It's like the artist seems more present in drawing than in other mediums, and this seems full of radical, political potential to me.” 〰️
HT: “Everything is a sketch because I’m constantly trying to get at these obscure or acute angles of histories that are layered and intersectional and nonlinear.” 〰️
Arnold Kemp lives and works in Chicago. His work has been shown at PDX Contemporary, Portland; Chisenhale Gallery, London; and the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, Salem. 〰️
Hồng-An Trương lives and works in New York and North Carolina. Her work has been shown in Prospect 4, New Orleans Biennial,  Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; at the Lump Gallery, Durham; Whitechapel Gallery, London; and the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin. 〰️
Open Sessions is a two year artist program of interdisciplinary events and exhibitions focused on drawing, organized by Rosario Güiraldes and Lisa Sigal.
