José Antonio Suárez Londoño’s “Planas” is a visual diary of 365 drawings, one for each day starting January 1, 2005 and ending December 31, 2005.The drawings were made on paper from children’s calligraphy notebooks that Londoño had collected overtime. He preferred using this paper for its superior quality and the varied color schemes that differed from standard cardstock.Using unbound the notebooks, he would mix and match different sheets of paper in stacks of about 30, depending on the month, so that there is fluctuation visually. His drawings meditate on self reflection,drawing itself, and philosophy, depending on how he felt a certain day or week. Londoño’s “Planas” offers an entrance to a visualizations and thoughts of an artist.
