“The Reservoir” is a short animated film exploring dissociation, industrial infrastructure, determinism, and daydreaming. After barely surviving a catastrophic train crash, the video’s protagonist stumbles through a series of menacing infrastructural spaces and ambiguous encounters. His apparent sense of detachment is called into question as narrative ambiguities accumulate, and the line between chance and determination blurs.
