"Drape" is a series of works on paper that explores the economic shifts in the built environment as it shapes the discourse that frames black communities. For "Drape No.6" Regina Agu draws from a text by poet Akilah Oliver, “the visible unseen”. Renderings of tarps, drop cloths, and polyvinyl sheeting are featured as temporary landmarks of displacement and loss.

“Broadside (On|Off)” consists of a series of conceptual photographs and a walking poem, based on a series of walks and dérives in the Greater Third Ward, Houston that originally took place in 2011 - 2014. Regina Agu takes up the form of the poetry broadside to revisit this series of photos, documenting open-air architectural remains, historic spaces and vanishing sites; the text is drawn from historic signs, landmarks and commercial texts that the artist encountered in her walks. “Broadside (On|Off)” traces the movement of the walks, and emphasizes the mapping and drawing of physical pathways, and shifts in capital that fuel the property cycle.
