## Caption

Artists have a variety of methods to make their mark. Every Friday we will share a photograph of an #ArtistInAction.
In her practice,Teresita Fernández explores the interaction between landscape and the body, creating sculptures and installations that consider every direction in space and time. Fernández was born in 1968, the daughter of exiled Cuban parents. Her delicate and vibrant works reimagine such issues as history of place and movement through space. Working since the early 1990s, Fernández participated in the Drawing Center Selections Spring 1995 show and had her first solo show in New York in 1996. Her engaging, large scale sculptures capture the essence of landscapes, water, weather, and earth, neither representational nor figurative, but always accounting for the presence of the figure and the experience of place.
