The Drawing Center galleries are open this Saturday and Sunday 12-6pm. Exhibitions are up through December 18. "Open Sessions: Cartography of Ghosts" features the work of #ReginaAgu, #MustafaFaruki, #jclenochan, #FlorentineLamarcheOvize and #AlexandreLamarcheOvize, #SreshtaRitPremnath, and #GabrielaSalazar, the artists explore drawing as a tool to make visible the personal and human traces that haunt the public and material. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is a detail from a piece by Florentine and Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize (b. 1978, Rosenheim, Germany and 1980, Le Coteau, France), Paris-based artists. Their "The Never Ending Pictures" is a new series of drawings, including two large works each with an accompanying zine. The series explores narrative through a combination of pattern and figuration.  The artists mix topical images from daily newspapers and magazines with personal, domestic moments to produce new images of quotidian reality. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
