FREE sound performance this Thursday, Aug 4 at 6:30pm

In tandem with our ongoing Gabriel de la Mora exhibition, Open Sessions artist #ThessiaMachado is performing with sound sculptor #RanjitBhatnagar. Machado and Bhatnagar will explore the musical possibilities of humble, overlooked materials and sounds, performing with a sound-powered drawing machine, a turntable with laser-cut texture record, repurposed toys, and an assortment of noisemakers.

Thessia Machado’s practice explores the innate relationships between sound and visual perception. Machado is currently a resident of Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center.

Ranjit Bhatnagar is a sound sculptor who creates an instrument every day as part of an ongoing series. Each of Bhatnagar's instruments is made from found objects that have been transformed into noise-making sculptures.
