Artists have a variety of methods to make their mark. Every Friday we will share a photograph of an #ArtistInAction.

Rolling over, pivoting, and fidgeting: Trisha Brown creates a mystery novel in two dimensions. This postmodern dancer and visual artist began using drawing in her work as a way to explore movement in a different form. These finished drawings are mostly composed of residual markings of movement, in which the lines and shapes are records of her private dance improvisations. Such ghostly, muddled traces of her body and its movements have the power to be both personal and publicly compelling at the same time.
 
Sidenote: Trisha Brown Dance Company will perform at bam_brooklyn on Jan 28 – 30.
