Meet 4th year Electrical Engineering student Ezekiel. “I chose this program because I was very interested in designing electronics. UOIT has hands on labs that complement the topics learned in lecture. Sometimes they go beyond the scope and show real world applications of concepts.
Electrical engineering (and other engineering programs) offer a ton of hands on experience. Our courses almost always consists of a lab component. This provides an environment where we can see concepts applied in real time. In upper years you get to work on major projects. Project Management and Design Principles (year 3) has a mini capstone project for a semester where you design and build something of your choice. Final year is pretty exciting because of the Capstone project where you really immerse yourself in the design process and manage a budget. This project is where you can get to really explore and apply what you've learned to make something better.”
