As we are now weeks away from The Intern Challenge, hear an #InternPerspectives from Senior Manager Alejandro Pedroza, who participated in the 2013 internship experience and is now in Protiviti's Australia office!

"I was a finance student and had already done an internship with a financial services company, but when I met Protiviti at a careers fair, I thought the work sounded interesting and decided to apply.

My internship started with the Challenge School in Orlando, Florida. People attended from all over the U.S., the training was well planned, and I quickly got an impression of the firm's size and how well everyone worked together. There were also some fun social activities, such as a trip to Disney World, which made it easy to meet and form relationships with the other interns.

After the Challenge School, I interned in Protiviti’s Fort Lauderdale office. I was surrounded by an amazingly supportive team and had the opportunity to work on multiple projects across different business practices. This experience helped me later when I decided to switch my focus to risk and compliance, having previously been an internal audit resource.

One thing that appealed to me about consulting was the chance to travel. I was also interested in living in another part of the U.S. or another country. I knew that would be a possibility if I joined Protiviti. I traveled for consulting projects before finally relocating to Protiviti’s Sydney office. The travel and relocation also showed me that Protiviti’s culture, which was one of the main attractions during my internship, is consistent around the globe."
