We'll be highlighting the stories of our people and the contributions they have made while working at Protiviti. "Be the change you want to see. At the start of Black History Month, I always reflect on the progress that has been made. I frequently remember of my father, who also worked in business, and think “how far could he have gone if he lived in the society of today.” I am proud to work for a company that supported my journey to Managing Director, especially one that work so hard at driving equality and making people feel they can always be themselves. I recall speaking to a new female employee, who had asked to have a meeting with me. In it, she asks “Am I allowed to wear braids to work?”—the question took me back. My response was a very loud, “of course,” however it made me realise some of the hidden challenges Black women face in the workplace because of their hair. Something one person may never think about, is something causes others some very unneeded stress. I am proud of the cultural impact I have had since living in the UK, including founding the Pride Employee Network group in the UK.
