Jefferson Parish will return to its traditional route for non-Mardi Gras Day parades in Metairie next year. ⁠

Carnival krewes will head east — instead of west — along Veterans Memorial Boulevard.⁠

The parish will also require riders on certain floats to wear safety harnesses, after a man tumbled off the second story of a Krewe of Argus float earlier this year.⁠
