For so long, I only defined myself as an athlete - wrapping my identity around wins and loses. In 2017, I tore my ACL and with it, my sense of self. I was at a low point in my life. Since I couldn’t play soccer, I attended my first ever Pride Parade and it changed my life. It allowed me to see myself as a whole human and one capable of contributing her authentic self to this world! This weekend marks my 5 year Pride anniversary and I cannot wait to celebrate and cherish my queer community. Keep your 👀 peeled for us at echostage Friday night and on the myfitdc capitalpridedc float on Saturday!! LET’S PARTY!!
