A look back on a favorite. ~Mrs Poe~ This is a peek at a time in history when  the celebrities of the day were made such by means of their own worthy accomplishments. 
I truly enjoyed the author's imagining of the disputed relationship between Edgar Allan Poe and Frances Osgood. Did it really happen? So convincing is the narrative, that by the end of the book you feel certainly it must have. In 1845, in New York City,  Poe and his wife, are rubbing shoulders with the likes of people like Mathew Brady, Walt Whitman, and Louisa May Alcott. When the poet Frances Osgood arrives on the scene, their attraction is mutual and cant help but be noticed, especially by Mrs. Poe. A side of Poe is developed that contrast with the mad, dark poet presented in high school literature classes. #lynncullen #mrspoe #francesosgood
