One year ago this month we dropped one of our most popular theboisebubble Podcast episodes “Separate Bedrooms”.

We had no idea that this concept of “Sleep Divorce” would be such a popular topic. We still get approached on a very regular basis from couples who have adopted this into their own lives. If you want listen to our chat, it is episode 43, available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

We are asked often why we chose this, so we’ll just lay it out!

1️⃣ Much better SLEEP!!!! - I mean if this was the only benefit, it would be enough. The quality of our sleep has skyrocketed. No one’s alarm or late night reading is bothering the other. No snoring, coughing or stealing the blankets. No one said that sleep needed to be a group project.

2️⃣ Time in bed is intentional. You know that time before you go to sleep where you’re laying next to each other, scrolling or reading and doing your own thing? Yeah we don’t do that. At least not together. When we’re in bed together, it’s for a purpose. We’re either connecting or being intimate. Talking with each other. Making out. (Yep. Sometimes we just make out.)

Then we get to decompress from the day separately. Alone time is important in relationships. It makes being together better.

3️⃣ Better and more frequent sex.
If you are in a bed together - it’s for a reason. 🔥

⚫️ Basic summary - better sleep, better connection, better sex. ⚫️

Cons? Sometimes you have to wear socks to bed because you don’t have a warm body to warm them up with. That’s about it.

Want to know what WE found interesting from the conversation?

How many people felt attacked by our choice. It really helped us understand that we live in a society where some people people do not feel comfortable with people making choices different from them. And we can’t coexist like that. It was an important thing to understand so that we can address it. We soon after dropped episode 48 “Broken Dialogue- Tools to get us back on track.”

What do you think of the concept of separate bedrooms?
