Wow! What an amazing day with howofwine! I spent Saturday taking their WSET Level 1 Award in Wines course. The next one is September 17, and there’s only 16 spot so don’t miss it. 

House of Wine mission:

“Our mission at House of Wine is to be perpetual teachers and students of wine science. Essentially we’re addicted to knowledge and passing that “wine wisdom” onto others. Whether conducting tests in the laboratory, researching and implementing new winemaking methodology for a client, or teaching wine professionals and enthusiasts about wine, we believe in the power of learning. And learning is something that we plan to never stop doing.”

Founder Kathryn House McClaskey is the enologist, viticulturist, and wine educator behind House of Wine. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Horticulture from Washington State University with special emphasis in Viticulture and Enology. For the last 20 years, she’s worked in making wine, teaching wine and tasting, and judging wine. She holds an Advanced Certificate from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust, is Idaho’s only certified Italian Wine Professional (IWP), and holder of an advanced Rioja DOCa certification. She is a student in a student in the most prestigious (and challenging!) wine education program in the world: Master of Wine.
