We have lots of people ask for recommendations for restaurants that accommodate families easily. We actually have found smokymtnpizza in Meridian to be a great choice. The restaurant is family friendly and the menu is varied enough to satisfy everyone. Don’t be confused by the name, if you haven’t been, this is definitely not just a pizza joint. They have a large selection of pastas, salads, burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and really good desserts. They have an option for kids to make their own pizza which is always fun. We love heading there in the summer, as the Meridian location has a beautiful shaded patio. Bright and cheery in the daytime, and lovely ambience at night. Also, if you have kids that are particularly squirrelly - see if you can reserve the Cellar Dining Room. It’s a small private room off of the main dining room, big enough for a large family and the doors even shut! Love that. If you’re trying Smoky Mountain Pizzeria Grille for the first time, we recommend the Trail Creek Burger with bacon, cheddar onion strings and barbecue sauce. And upgrade to the Parmesan garlic fries. 🙌🏻 We also love the Brie Bites for appetizers, any of the baked pasta, and you can’t go wrong with the calzones. Ooo, and the Smoked Turkey Club! The Teriyaki Chicken Fettuccine is totally random but for some reason really works. And really, all the pizza is great. (Fav is the “Great White”.) And did we mention the desserts? Come for a beer, some wings and a dessert and you’ve got a pretty nice date night. (It isn’t just for families, they have a large bar and lots of booths for private sitting.)
