Hello Family and Friends,
 
Today is World Down Syndrome Day and we are inviting you to celebrate alongside Kit and her family! 
 
World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness day when self-advocates and their families, friends, coworkers, and supporters organize and participate in activities to raise awareness, advocate for rights, and promote inclusion and well-being of all people with Down syndrome. World Down Syndrome Day occurs on the 21st day of March (3.21) each year, selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome which is what causes Down syndrome. World Down Syndrome Day has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012.
 
How you can celebrate:
1. Rock your Socks! 
On 3/21, help us celebrate and raise awareness by rocking your favorite pair of fun socks. Why socks? Because under a microscope, a pair of chromosomes look like a pair of socks. And, just like fun, different socks, being different is awesome! When someone asks, share about Down syndrome and your friend, Kit. 
 
2. Share a book, post, or information about Down syndrome with your family and community. Forward this email to someone new. Inform yourself about Down syndrome. Knowledge is power! Visit the link in our bio for a few suggestions!
 
3. Go for a walk, roll, run for 3.21 miles (or minutes - whichever serves you best) on 3/21 and recognize the beauty in each of our differences. Be kind to someone who is different from you, maybe say hello. Celebrate those differences!
